This exciting role within the College of Creative Arts, Technology and Engineering is for a Senior Lecturer in Computing and Digital Apprenticeships to teach on our undergraduate and postgraduate computing programmes as well as on our three-year Digital Technology Solutions Professional Apprenticeship degree programme. The apprenticeship programme is designed for current or aspiring practitioners in the IT related areas covered by the apprenticeship standard for Digital and Technology Solutions Professional. Within this context, it is designed for professionals who provide technology enabled solutions to internal and/or external customers in a range of areas including software, business and systems analysis, cyber security, data analysis and network infrastructure. We are particularly looking for talented individuals with experience of:
- Front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, front-end frameworks – e.g. React, Angular, Vue)
- Back-end software development (e.g. Java, C++, C#, Python, Node.JS, PHP, SQL, Postman or equivalent)
- Mobile app development, including Progressive Web Apps (e.g. React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin)
- Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure)
- Cyber Security and InfoSec
- Modern Software Engineering practices (including Agile/Scrum, Test Automation, CI/CD)
- Technical / Digital leadership
Depending on the programme, teaching will be face-to-face with some online delivery

Research and Knowledge Exchange:

Conduct effective research and scholarly activity, generate income and align own research with teaching and learning to generate excelled student outcomes

Engage in effective doctoral supervision and develop early career research

Contribute significantly to knowledge through refereed conference outputs and peer-reviewed (non-conference) outputs
