Job Title:  Professor

Location:  Relevant University campus with travel to other campuses, as required.

Responsible to:  PVC (other other as advised)  

 

Job Purpose:

  • Develop and deliver excellence in research-led teaching by strengthening links between our subject-based research and teaching contributing to strong student outcomes and commercial success.

  • Lead the design and delivery of high quality research and knowledge exchange, fulfilling the University’s mission in this area.

  • Contribute to your discipline, nationally and internationally, through participation in conferences, seminars, professional bodies and peer review.

  • Practice an inclusive approach and support building an inclusive university community where people can achieve their potential.

 

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

 

  • Developing the research, enterprise and collaboration agendas of the University including producing high impact and innovative, peer-reviewed research.

  • Role model research-led working and actively participate in relevant research that enhances practice and underpins service improvement.

  • Grow externally funded national and international research and innovation collaborations.

  • Successfully supervise to completion research students, as appropriate to the discipline and to attract research students to the University.

  • Deliver substantial national or international public engagement and communication of research.

  • Maintain a sustained contribution in research active communities

  • Act as an ambassador for the University’s DRIVE values and demonstrate strong academic citizenship.

  • Comply with relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR; Health and Safety; UKVI; and Equality and Diversity) in all working practices

  • Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required.
