We are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance to cover maternity leave, commencing in January 2025. The key duties of the post holder will be to contribute to the teaching and delivery of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes, including the academic and personal support of students.
An ability to teach and supervise in one of the following areas would also be required: financial decision-making, international finance and economics.

Job Purpose:

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:
Education:
- To undertake research-informed teaching in the subject discipline managing all aspects of curriculum delivery and the associated student experience to the highest standards in accordance with the University’s requirements and the TEF.
- To undertake associated activities in connection with the courses taught including: personal tutoring; student recruitment; assessment, review and evaluation.
- To achieve student satisfaction – demonstrating a commitment to ‘customer focus’ and contributing to the achievement of strong NSS results.
- Demonstrate inclusive practice in curriculum design and delivery. Work to eliminate attainment gaps.
- To contribute to Open Days, school, college and partnership links and the marketing and promotional work of the Department and/or School.
- To support students in supervising placements, learning in practice, internships and work-related activities.
- To deliver pastoral care to, and project supervision of, students.
- To plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate media, including the use of Digital technologies.
- To provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance.
- To engage in professional development activities (e.g. CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to teaching, learning and assessment.
Research and Professional Practice:
- To conduct research and scholarly activity of relevance to the lecturing role and/or area of professional practice and aligns own research with their teaching and learning
- To engage with relevant business and professional networks to promote teaching and learning and research in a professional context.
- To engage in professional development activities (e.g. CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to research, enterprise and/or the relevant profession.
- To maintain and foster the high reputation of the University in practice partner settings.
- To contribute to the REF and KEF and to internal and external research and enterprise strategies, as applicable.
Leadership and Management:
- Demonstrate involvement in the support and development of Graduate Teaching Associates, contributing to the recruitment and mentoring of new colleagues, as appropriate.
- To promote the University values within the academic community.

- Participate in relevant internal and external networks
