We are looking for a College Business Manager for each of our Colleges; College of Health & Society, College of Creative Arts, Technology and Engineering and College of Leadership and Innovation. They will be someone who is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in delivering excellent customer service, managing administrative processes in a school, department or faculty and posses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities include overseeing budgets, managing admissions and timetabling for the College, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading initiatives to improve efficiency. If you are detail-oriented, proficient in financial software, and passionate for equity and social justice and contributing to the success of our Colleges, we encourage you to apply.

Job Purpose:

Be responsible for the strategic and efficient and effective operational management of the College’s administrative and operational functions that will deliver excellence in customer service and be the central point of reference between the College and the wider University.

To practice an inclusive approach and support building an inclusive university community where people can be themselves.

 

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:  

  • Leading on all administrative and operational processes for the College ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and legislation. 
  • Take accountability for the operational planning to support the College strategy.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and analyse College budgets reporting to the College leadership team.
  • Oversee staff recruitment activity for the College, including Atypicals and Associate Lecturers including collaborating with line managers for inducting new starters into the College.
  • Management of the process of Associate Lecturers in the College
  • Oversee management of the College’s spaces and space requirements with Estates.
  • Manage and be the link person for timetabling and admissions for the College.
  • Write and deliver College wide communications.
  • Oversee and monitor staff workload and training and development programmes for the College.
  • Monitor service provision, seeking continuous improvement and acting on feedback from internal/external stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for Health and Safety, budget and risk management, and ensure compliance with university regulations, policies and procedures in your area.
  • Line management responsibilities including recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, motivation, health & safety and wellbeing.
  • Comply with relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR; Health and Safety; UKVI; and Equality and Diversity) in all working practices.
  • Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required.
