We are looking for a College Business Administrator for each of our Colleges; College of Health & Society, College of Creative Arts, Technology and Engineering and College of Leadership and Innovation. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in delivering excellent customer service, experience of general and finance administration and posses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:  College Business Administrator

Job Purpose:

 

Provide comprehensive administrative and financial operational support for the College.

 

Practice an inclusive approach and support building an inclusive university community where people can be themselves.

 

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:  

  • Act as the first point of contact for the College for operational information demonstrating a high standard of customer service.
  • Support line managers with the admin arrangements for inducting new starters into the College and processing leavers.
  • Support the College Business Manager with College wide communications, timetabling and admissions for the College.
  • Process applications from staff in the College related to travel bookings in the UK and overseas to include partner visits and conferences ensuring best value for money.
  • Prepare and generate invoices for fees and other income receivable in accordance with supplier/government body/financial regulations requirements.
  • Administer Guest Lecturer and Experts by Experience (where applicable) payments for the College.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports for the College, ensuring timely analysis and presentation of data to support budgeting, forecasting and decision making processes. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Deans, including complex calendar management, scheduling of internal and external meetings, and coordination of travel arrangements;
  • Assist in the planning, organisation, and delivery of College events, meetings, and external engagements, ensuring all logistical and administrative aspects are handled efficiently;
  • Prepare purchase order requisitions for goods and services supplied to and for the College.
  • Comply with relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR; Health and Safety; UKVI; and Equality and Diversity) in all working practices.
  • Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required.
